“Crime is not a popularity contest – don’t take part”

My name is Hafsa and I live in West Bowling in BD5.  I am doing A Levels at Tong High School.  I am 17 years old and used to play for Bradford Dragons basketball team.  I am also a lyricist and have a passion for music.  I have done voluntary work on a playshcme for a community centre in my area.

I am standing in Bradford East for the reduction of crime, such as organised robberies and street crime against young people.  Young people have a lot of time on their hands and don’t know how to spend it. As a result, some get involved in crime.  This is when crime starts to become a popularity contest.  I believe this is why street crime takes place so often.  I intend on reducing this sort of crime by finding out where it happens and putting up posters of information on how to avoid this happening to you and if it does happen, how to report it.  I will focus on Holme-wood, Manningham and Undercliffe.  There should be CCTV and more patrolling police officers in these areas to make sure the area is safe for everyone.

I want to make a reduction in crime and the best way for me to achieve this is to become a member of BKYP.  I really need everyone’s support to make this happen.
