The Role of MYP's

It would be helpful if an MYP had the following attributes:
- Be lively and outgoing
- Have an interest in what's happening locally and district wide
- Be able to listen to and respect the views of young people
- Be confident in talking to individuals and groups
- Take their responsibilities seriously
- Not be afraid to speak their mind
- Have a positive sense of humour
Job Description
BKYP aims to give young people living in the Bradford Metropolitan District, between the ages of 11 and 21 years old (inclusive) a voice, which will be heard and listened to by local and national government, service providers for young people and other agencies who have an interest in the views, needs and concerns of young people.
Anyone living in the Bradford Metropolitan District, aged 11 to 21 (inclusive) can stand for election. If elected their role will be:
- To listen to and respect the views of all young people elected members and providers of young people's services.
- To listen to young people's views and voice them at local, district wide and national levels.
- To encourage the involvement of all young people irrespective of their background and experience.
- To liaise with informal young people's groups such as friendship and interest groups.
- To liaise with established young people's groups such as Neighbourhood Forums, Committees and School Councils.
- To be aware of local, district and national issues, especially those affecting young people.
- To attend meetings as organised by BKYP.
- To adhere to the BKYP code of conduct.
